Introduction
Wollega University's School of Pharmacy was established in 2008 to educate students in the field of pharmacy and produce skilled and competent graduates to meet the workforce needs of the nation. As of February 2024, the department of Pharmacy has been promoted to the School of Pharmacy, now officially known as the School of Pharmacy Academic and Service Directorate. The Directorate consists of three departments: the Clinical Pharmacy Academic and Service Department, the Pharmacy Academic and Service Department, and the Pharmaceutics and Supply Chain Management Academic and Service Department. This new structure effectively integrates academic activities with hospital pharmacy services at Wollega University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital under Institute of health Sciences.
The school of Pharmacy directorate currently has 1PhD holder active staff, 5 Assistant Professors (MSc) active staffs and 20 active lecturers facilitating our academic programs and demonstrating our commitment to high-level expertise. Similarly, three Bachelor of Pharmacy students, eight MSc students and five PhD students are currently on study leave, pursuing advanced doctoral research to further strengthen the school research capacity upon their return.
