Wollega University Institute of Health Sciences, School of Medicine , School of Pharmacy and School of Public Health successfully conducted an Internal Curriculum Review Workshop for the revised Outcome-Based Modular Curriculum of the Undergraduate Medicine Program, Pharmacy Program, Anesthesia, and Public Health Officer Program.
The workshop opened with a welcoming speech by Dr. Tesfaye Shibiru, Academic and Service Corporate Director of Wollega University, Institute of Health Sciences. Following his remarks, Dr. Asefa Negeri, Director of the School of Medicine, officially inaugurated the workshop and emphasized the importance of the review process in strengthening and enriching the curriculum document prior to external validation.
The sessions featured productive discussions, constructive comments, and valuable feedback from participants and reviewers. Dr. Kebena Teferi, Director of Quality and Innovation at the Institute of Health Sciences, expressed his appreciation to all participants for their active engagement and highlighted the significance of such academic activities in enhancing program quality, meeting accreditation standards, and promoting continuous quality improvement.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Tesfaye Abera, Academic Corporate Vice Director, commended the collective effort of faculty and reviewers, underscoring that such collaborative initiatives are vital for advancing academic excellence and ensuring the curriculum remains responsive to the needs of students and society.
